The reform of government support to businesses (economic expansion legislation) is well under way. The ordinance has been voted, as part of that, the first implementing decree on general investment subsidies will follow. But some aid will decrease from December 2018..... So read carefully the following if you have a project in progress!
A reform that means you need to act swiftly!
Although the reform will bring several positive innovations for businesses in the capital, there is also a downside: as of December 2018, fewer subsidies than before will be available for the acquisition of land and buildings. The order of magnitude will be a third as much if the company invests in or outside the development zone and half as much if it invests in the Zone for Economic Urban Stimulation (ZEUS)! It’s not too late if you’re planning a business project in Brussels, but you do need to act right away!
If you still want to take advantage of the currently available level of subsidy and your notarial deed will be signed before end of March 2019, you absolutely have to submit your subsidy application before end of November 2018.
