KBC will look after the rest of the paperwork.

At KBC, you can take out compulsory third-party liability insurance, but also put together your very own package to suit your business needs. When you buy a new car or decide to go for a hybrid or electric vehicle, you'll also get a discounted premium.

Learn more about our company car insurance

If you opt for an electric vehicle, you face other risks than with a traditional car, such as damage to or theft of your charging cable when in use, damage to the battery after an accident or damage caused by fire and melting due to a short circuit. However, when you have comprehensive insurance, you don't have to worry about a thing.

What's more, KBC-VAB Roadside Assistance Insurance is included under the all-risks comprehensive insurance policy. So, if your battery unexpectedly goes flat, we’ll help you get back on the road in no time.

If your own charging station is damaged, it isn't covered by KBC Brussels Comprehensive Car Insurance, but it may well be by your home insurance.

If your car has been written off, we'll ensure that you lose as little money as possible by reimbursing the amount you paid for the car up to 30 months after purchasing it. When you take out your insurance contract, you can also add the '10% extra' option – for a small additional fee – and receive an additional 10% in compensation if your vehicle is declared a total loss. It means a number of other costs will also be covered, such as your vehicle registration tax and up to 2 000 euros for accessories that were fitted later.

Your good driving habits will earn you 10% off your third-party liability insurance premium if you drive without causing any at-fault accidents for a year or more. After five years, you will be rewarded with a no-claims joker. If you are involved in an accident where you're at fault and you use this joker, you will avoid your premium going up.

If you drive without causing any at-fault accidents for another five years after this, and your company car remains insured the entire time, you will earn another no-claims joker.

To help you save valuable time, we'll have your number plate and all the papers ready in your car when you collect it from the garage.

If your vehicle is damaged, the administration associated with a claims submission, the assessor's report and repair work is done mainly online to quicken up the entire process.

You choose where to have your car repaired, but if you go for one of the repairers in the network which KBC Insurance works with, KBC Brussels will pay the repairer directly. Our approved network of repairers will also provide you with a replacement vehicle for the duration of the repair work, if:

  • you have taken out comprehensive insurance
  • you are involved in an accident in which you are not liable

The network of approved repairers is provided on our website.

What type of company car insurance can you take out?

1. Compulsory Third-Party Liability Insurance

If you want to drive your company car on public roads, you are required by law to take out third-party liability insurance. It covers any loss, damage or injury you cause to others if you are at fault. In such cases, however, any damage to your car is not insured.

2. Extend your cover by adding Semi-Comprehensive or Fully Comprehensive Insurance

When you take out semi-comprehensive insurance, you are covered in most claim events caused by someone other than yourself. Our fully comprehensive insurance policy covers virtually any claim, unless it is included on the limited list of exclusions (the complete list can be found in the general conditions at the bottom of this page).

3. Additional Driver Accident Insurance

If you have an accident, the damage caused to others is covered by your third-party liability insurance policy, while damage to your own car is covered by your comprehensive insurance policy.

However, if you suffer injuries and also want the medical expenses to be reimbursed, you need to have additional driver accident insurance.

4. Personal assistance and roadside assistance

Additional roadside assistance insurance and personal assistance insurance provide cover if your car breaks down or you have an accident – either in Belgium or abroad.

5. Legal Assistance Insurance

There’s always the possibility that you’ll end up in a dispute following an accident. If there is disagreement with the other party regarding compensation or the repair work, this supplementary cover ensures you receive legal assistance to recover the cost of your loss or damage – either through litigation or an out-of-court settlement. Your legal expenses are covered up to 100 000 euros.
